Colours

Don't mind my chinky eyes, it was an extremely bright day today, which called for a few eye squints ;) I am excited that we have reached the end of June because it seems many clothing stores have begun their summer sale. To name a few include Club Monaco, Ssense, Aritzia, and my most anticipated one, Zara! I started off viewing their online selection because it's just so much easier to browse through and you can see everything. Zara never fails to disappoint when it comes to their styles. I figured I would order a few items, but at the same time, I couldn't bare spending more money on clothes. The good thing is that their summer sale literally does last the whole summer, so I'll have many opportunities to shop around. Even if you're updated on the Zara sales, it's good that they have new sale inventory every two weeks I'd say, so you'll always find something different. I remember near the end of last summer when the sale was close to ending, I scored a leather bag where the style was similar to Givenchy's pandora, normally costing $179.99 and I purchased it for $49.99! Indeed a happy moment when you can forge out that big of a discount!

Thursdays

One of the things I must do this summer is get my wisdom teeth removed, yikes! Currently, it isn't bothering me, but just two weeks ago, it was irritating me everyday. I think I only have three right now that can be removed, one on the left and right side of my lower teeth and then one on my upper right side. It was over a year and a half ago when I started to feel them growing out. Usually, the pain only lasted three days, and would come back every five months, though this year, it's becoming more frequent, which means it must be time...
I always thought that once you start feeling your wisdom teeth, you should get them removed right away. But my orthodontist, who I visit once in a couple of months to followup on my teeth from having braces, inspected them a while back and did x-rays, saying I should wait a little longer. I'm assuming they're less painful to remove when they're more grown out and not as deep in the gums?
I am planning on visiting a dentist soon, I don't even have an official one because I rarely do check ups. I've only visited my orthodontist, who took care of straightening my teeth. I've heard the pricing is usually about $500 a tooth, $500 x 3 = $1500 Eeek :| I'm hoping I can reap some benefits from my university since there are some health and dental coverage fees with the tuition amount. When my wisdom teeth are bothering me, I'm not fearful about removing them because it's so irritating! But I don't know how I'll actually react when the time comes.

Repulse Bay

One of the places we visited while in Hong Kong was Repulse Bay, located in the Southern part of the island. We traveled by bus, winding through slopes around the mountains. It was a bit of an oddly thrilling ride because the bus drivers seemed so hasty and didn't care at all that anything horrible could happen at any minute... A: we were traveling around a huge mountain B: the roads were narrow C: it was a double decker bus filled with people and D: it was a fast ride, we were even hitting tree branches poking out. This seems to be typical though of public transportation drivers in Hong Kong to be quick and speedy.

Once we made it, the blazing heat was scorching, feeling like 35°C. Thankfully, in Hong Kong, carrying an umbrella at all times was mandatory, rain or shine. Everyone had their umbrellas open to block the sun (kudos to anything that'll give me an excuse to not wear sunscreen!). If only I could do this in North America and not feel judged by people. Only the Asians understand...
We walked around the beach area where many people were tanning, as if they weren't already tanned enough living in such a humid climate area!

There were many beautiful apartments surrounding the beach, especially one known as the "building with a hole," which believed to allow positive feng shui and dragons to pass through to guard the area. Repulse Bay was also known to have one of the most expensive housing areas. Who wouldn't want to live here?! It was a pleasant place with naturistic views of the water and mountains. It was quite the place to settle down compared to the more popular districts in Hong Kong, clustered with tall buildings and people on every block.

Summer Lilac

I have officially returned back to Canada after my month-long trip in Hong Kong. It wasn't a very good farewell because the day before our flight home, my boyfriend and I had caught a case of traveler's diarrhea. It started with a few trips to the washroom, and then it got worse with fluctuations of stomach aches and uneasiness leaping in. TMI - we were so worried of what it could've been because everything we ate would just come right out of the hole ...and it wasn't neatly together at all.
It was worse enough that we had to be on a 15 hour flight too! Strangely though, my sickness wasn't as bad as my boyfriend's. He needed to go to the washroom more often than I did and was experiencing worser symptoms. We thought this problem would've went away by the time we got home because it would've already been 3 days, but it kept persisting. All I did was stay home most of the time and eat clean, and finally after 6 days, I was better.
I've had diarrhea before, but not as severe as this! I've read that this type of sickness was probably caused by a parasite that could've been contracted from anything, whether it be the usual suspect from food, or even touching door handles. I guess it was also no surprise that we'd be sick at least once during our trip because Hong Kong is a pretty dirty place and our bodies weren't accustomed to their type of drinking water. Quite the story to discuss for this outfit post looking as sweet and delicate as it is, hehe ...Whatever it may have been, I'm glad it didn't involve a trip to the emergency room!
