I'm surprised I haven't tried the sleek wet hair look until now. If you haven't noticed, I'm still in the middle of trying to perfect the look, seeing what style works with my hair and how to keep it in uniform. I used Pantene's level 4 gel, smoothed it through the front of my hair and then blow-dried it with cool air to set it in place. It holds its place for the whole day, but the only problem would be that the "wet" texture eventually dries and looks like separated hard strands, rather than smooth ones. This look is an easy way to style hair away from your face and can actually be done in less than 5 minutes!

SSense Spring Sale
SSense offers a sale only twice a year, one in the winter and one in spring, which officially starts today! Well, last night it was suppose to but the servers went down and no one was able to access the full web page. What I love about SSense is that they're Canadian-run, so of course, shipping has to be less of a hassle (free shipping & no duties!) and that they offer a wide selection of designer items.
Originally, on the first day of the FarFetch sale which began three days ago, I had laid eyes on purchasing a Proenza Schouler PS11 in the mini classic, but I had to think about it thoroughly before purchasing because of its costly price tag, even despite the discount. I told myself if it was still available the next day, I'd purchase it, and if not, then it's a sign I shouldn't delve on it. As I eagerly browsed on the site the following day, the bag was sold! I didn't realize how much I had wanted it until it was gone, and so I was on the hunt to find a PS11 on sale comparable to the same amount (because it really was a good deal). Perfect timing, I thought about SSense and remembered they normally have a sale during this Spring time. I was hoping SSense would have the bag on sale, but instead they have the quilted version on sale, which is about $200 more than the original. I guess I'll still be on the lookout.
Anywho, here are some fabulous items I came across and wanted to share. If it's anything over $200, I tend to only splurge on shoes and bags because they're essentials that I'd most likely use more than clothing. So if you're in the mood to splurge, check out SSense!

Oxford
To add some interest to one of my favourite casual outfits, I paired it with my Messeca oxfords. They have been laying in my shoe closest for years. I don't even know why I nearly forgot they existed! The mixed textures of smooth leather, pony hair and (a little scratched) rose gold heel give it some unique character. I had originally bought them a size 7.5 and since then, my shoe size has shrunken to a size 6.5 to 7! I have wide feet so it is difficult for me to find a perfect fit when it comes to shoes. Although slightly big, these shoes are still comfortable to walk in.

Farfetch Exclusive Sale
If you've signed up for Farfetch's newsletter, you've probably got an invite to have an early viewing of their newly listed sale items, ranging up to 50% off designer pieces. Farfetch is an online shopping site, which helps boutiques around the world, though mainly in Europe, sell their items. Here are my picks of items I would love to have from the sale. And no, they weren't strategically placed to match as an outfit. Some items are still pricey even discounted, but if you've been eyeing a designer piece lately, maybe you'll find it. As a Canadian shopper, a plus is that the duties and taxes are included in the price listed, so no worries of unexpected costs at the door.
Here's a direct link to view all the sale items, happy hunting!
Buckle Up
...
1 :: Steve Madden 2 :: Jeffrey Campbell 3 :: Underground 4 :: Zara 5 :: Saint Laurent 6 :: Toga Pulla
7 :: Chloe
I'm all in for buckles on pointed-toe ankle boots. I love the polished look of having a pointed-toe boot and the ruggedness the buckles give, plus it gives the shoe some interest. My favourite among the list would have to be the pink Zara ones. The pretty pastel colour works so beautfiully with the silver-metal buckles, and is something you don't see often. Of course, I had to add in the crazed Chloe Susanna boot, found widely on celebrities and go-getters. I'm not into anything gold-metal these days, seems like I'm falling back to silver because of the clean and fresh look. Any of these boots would pair well with plain jeans and a t-shirt, or even throw on a dress and the boots will do all the talking.

Inspiration Everywhere
If you're ever in Toronto, be sure to check out the graffiti alley near Queen St W and Spadina Avenue. I love anything with colour and this place had tons of it! It was a fun little area to visit, with incredible graffiti artwork from wall to wall. Not something you see often since graffiti is normally taken as vandalism. During the summer, there are events offered to showcase the artists and informational-talks. I would love to give it a go at some spray-painting myself.
You never know what you're going to find in the city, inspiration is all around us.

Walk At The Park
I love my pup, well to me and everyone else, she looks like one, but she's the age of a senior! Her name is Whitney, nickname Nini and she's a Pomeranian-Shihtzu mix. I've had her since I was seven years old, which currently makes her thirteen. She's got the personality of an old soul now, but she never ceases to go on walks. She's more of my mom's dog, and I treat her like a little sister. It's sad to think how much time she may have left; all I can do is give her the attention she needs and remember little moments of our time together can make a difference in our happiness.

Givenchy Lust
Basically for the past two years, I have been lusting over this beautiful Givenchy Antigona bag. I have been looking for an everyday bag with sturdy structure, and the Antigona is the answer. The only thing holding me back is its $2,280 price tag, yikes! Every girl needs a dream bag though right? Hopefully, it'll be in my hands one day. It is made out of leather and comes in three main sizes - small, medium, large, and the newly introduced mini version, which can be used as a crossbody. I've had my encounter with the medium size, and it looks huge! Also, surprisingly not proportional looking to my 5'4 body height. I'd stick with the small size, or even consider the mini since it's slight cheaper at about $1,495. Some people may think this bag is too plain for a price to splurge, but the quality definitely makes up for it.
It is a classic indeed, would you be interested in the Antigona?
Baby Blue
Ooh that baby blue, a subtle pop of colour to one of my favourite outfits. It's as simple as throwing on a leather jacket and slipping into comfortable sandals. The only thing I don't like about the jacket is the perforation at the end of the sleeves because it makes movement somewhat stiff. Little things you'll never notice is how one of the trees in the background had funny foul language. Good thing it was off to the side for an easy crop-out.

The Urban Uniform
Mark your calendars! November 6, 2014 is the day The Alexander Wang x H&M collection will be available in H&M stores worldwide. At 30 years old, Alexander Wang has made a substantial name for himself in the fashion industry known for his clean silhouettes and playful pieces. One of his creations are as simple as the Rocco bag, a leather duffle with heavy-duty studs at the bottom which have caused major popularity, selling for a whopping $1050 CDN. With a fragile income like mine, I have always admired his work from afar. Until the collaboration is released will I be able to get my hands on a piece. Most likely, the only H&M location that will be carrying the collection near me is at Toronto's Eaton Centre because it's the prime spot for shopping; better start planning ahead. Although months away, it's definitely something to look forward to for the fall season.

Cottage Trip
Certainly wasn't the best week to choose to go on a cottage trip. Despite how bright the weather may seem in these photos, it was raining and gloomy all week! Not a good time to do much outdoor activities and what we really are supposed to do on a wildlife trip. These photos don't do justice on how beautiful this statement necklace really is, and from Forever 21! I love the jewel shapes and the pairing of pink and olive tones. Came to be about $10 just for the necklace. I had to opt out of these heels for my Birkenstocks since it was tiring to walk around.

Warmer Days
Here's to the first official post of the blog! I can't believe it took nearly over a month to set up the layout, mostly because I was dependent on other people who were doing the edits, and some last minute changes. I am excited to start this journey, entering the public online world and seeing what viewers think. The weather here in Toronto is slowly warming up, so anticipate some great posts in the near future. It would be a good idea to invest on a better camera lens since my photos aren't exactly the quality I am hoping for them to be. Many more great stuff on the way!
